Brian's (camlov2) 125 RR And so it begins. I decided to avoid the custom tank, I need to keep the money down when possible.
And my attempt at paint for the back

you wont be disappointed, the size is great!
i dig the paint job,i may copy that look when i break down this tank to add more rock and sand.
i know its early in the build but one thing i would make sure you have enough of is electricity. i have 12 plugs and wish i had 12 more. theres so many things that you may want to plug in. i run 2 dedicated 20A circuits to the tank for future upgrades.
I just had a great idea (to me) if you could utilize the wall in the laundry room for a switch panel for the tank, a nice cabinet that has all the timers, controllers and on/off switches right at easy level. that would make life so much easier.
ok, enough of that, get busy and get this sucker set up!!

Very cool. Looking forward to your build update!!!! :D

Here is the tank stand and canopy in place
and the ro/di that just showed up today (Paradise water is reading as low as 32 tds and as high as 73?!?)
By the way...
If Rob shows up at Fridays meeting with parts for my tank...
They are NOT for the raffle.

I see crate material on the bottom of the tank; is it to protect the glass or are you setting up a plenum system?
iairj84- 07-08-2008
probably to evenly distribute the weight of the rock. It works really well for that :)
Looking very good Brian!

looking sweet brian!!!! i like the look of the stand. going by your new sig some goodies are on their way!! right on!
that tank fits perfectly on that wall, almost like it was made for it.
give me a call if you want to do some plumbing this week. i'm leaving on sat. and will be gone for the rest of the month.

The crate is for the rocks. It is scary how the tank is the exact size of the wall. I have about 75 inches, I didn't think that the tank is actually 72.5 and the stand sticks out about 1.5 inches on each side.

i just saw your tds readings, thats about what i get here at the house too. paradise has some really good water. im going to guess that its mostly due to runoff and not having the chance to really percolate through the ground and collect solids. i should go -*test*-('") the well to see what that -*test*-('")s at, its not touched by the town. after 2+ years of no filter changing my final TDS is still less than 5 (yeah i know i need to maintenance them soon)
iairj84- 07-08-2008
I wouldn't worry overly about 5tds. I'm at 2 right now but get that from the RO so I know the DI need's changing but I'm not too worried about it and as long as my tds stays under 10 I'm not too concerned as rainwater on the coast is generally ~10.

I just assumed that it would be worse right now with all the crud in the air. We haven't had clean air in about 2-3 weeks, I would have thought this would have fallen into the water and had some effect on the water by now.
iairj84- 07-09-2008
well in order for it to read as TDS it has to be fully dissolved into the water. the ash and what not probably stays suspended in the water and would easily be trapped by the initial 5 micron filter.

You guys are lucky to have such good water. In the Yuba City, Marysville area it has been over 300 on the TDS!!! Heck with readings that low you could get away with using Tap water (though I never reccommend it )
Tank looks good Brian. I like the way you painted the back as well, it's different.
One thing though on RO/DI units, they are all the same what matters the most is the filters, membrane and the correct amount of water pressure flowing through them.
