Ideas for Club Meetings
1. Have those cheap-o name tags and a permanent marker so people can be identified. Knowing other peoples' names really helps facilitate conversation. Of course we all know certain people, but new members need some help. 2. Have a binder for the meetings; everyone could create a one-page writeup including their name, tank, saltwater specific interests (DIY? Seahorses? Macroalgae? Nanos? Mantis Shrimp?), and maybe include a picture. It would be a good way to learn more about each other (it's fun to find people with the same size tanks and see what they have done with them), and it would be a great way for new people to say "Oh this is that Tony guy I was talking to; he has a 55g (or whatever)."

Great ideas! Anyone want to make some 8.5x11" detail sheets and bring them in to the meeting. I'm sure I can dig up an old college binder for now to see if this gets rolling. If so then we can get a real folder/binder to keep these. Also a nice thing to pass around at meetings. Yes, evenI have a hard time remembering names of people that aren't often there but on occasion I do see elsewhere and such. Keep the ideas coming!!!

I wouldn't mind wearing name tags. Just remember to take of the nerd alert badge before leaving... ;)

If we want them to look nice we could actually print up some name tags and keep them in the raffle bucket, that way each of us wouldn't have to be responsible. :P

Do we want to start passing around an attendance sheet at meetings? That would give us a way to kinda chart our attendance, and is a good documentation piece should we ever need it.

yes, we've done that in the past. Maybe update a list every meeting with known members so all they have to do is check by their name and then new people can fill out the details.
