Is that a salinity of 27ppm or a specific gravity of 1.027?
Also, I have found the Brightwell product line OK in maintaining levels but not for making major adjustments.

Yeah... If I don't dose Alk constantly about 4x more tha Ca my pH starts to crash too. Talk to Jody about his Kalk stirrer on his main display. It has aided his Alk demand on this tank dramtically. And due to his Kalk mix it also doses Ca and Mg!!! Not bad for a relatively simple stirrer vs. the complexity of a Ca Rx. Plus, unless all the CO2 is driven off with a Ca Rx, they have been known to drop your tank's pH as well due to the lower pH needed to dissolve the CaCO3.
As far as me. I'm really stoked with my BulkReefSupply order. I have two gallon jugs with push-spouts that administer the supply of mixed Ca and Alk into a graduated cup. I also have Mg but I have to pour that one out as its not usually a daily add. Though a DIY Kalk stirrer has been on my distant to-do list ever since my wife's blender broke. :D
Good luck! :D
