Its been a while since i've done anything to my tank, so this weekend i decided to finish my lights. the last 3 pics re yesterday the rest go back to feb when i got them.

the first day i had them. i had to screw them to a piece of plywood just to see how much more light it really was....
Things progressed a bit from there... i built the basic frame out of 1x4 ripped to 1x2 and decided to go upscale and used cardboard to hide the glare, very similar to dans veneer skin. (i took it down for pics)
so it ran like that for a while looking all rugged and such, then eventually i did skin it with some oak ply and trim
I dont have any pics but you can imagine what it looks like.
fast forward to this weekend..
i wanted to put my actinics in there and put some finish on the hood so down they came.
i had plenty of stain and varnish left from the stand so i was well prepared.
The VHO's were a PITA only because the guys that work in the electrical dept at the hardware store SUCK!!!!!!! it took 3 trips to finally get close enough to mke it work. some wiring is still ghetto but its safe and works well.
im happy. the actinics give the pop and really accent the MH well.
