The Mushroom Butcher
I read a long time ago about how easy it is to frag up mushrooms and make many more of them so after a long time of wanting to try it I did. I felt so bad Cutting up the poor mushroom corals I love much but IF I can get 8 mushrooms from 2 in 4 weeks I am all about it. And of course share it with you all even tho I am sure you all have already done this I am awaiting on there full recovery for i chopped them up on wednesday. I will update. step 1 2 mushroom in tubberware with net and rubberbands ready Step 2 using kitchen sissors I cut them into many parts (I question this tool but from what I heard its hard to screw this up) Step 3 After netting them to a rock I dropped them into the tank and started to PRAY yes I am new to fraging so any critisam helps

Seems like you did it just like a lot of the ways I've seen them done online... I don't keep mushrooms in my tank so don't know for sure but it's definitely hard to kill the little buggers so I can imagine you should be just fine :D

The only thing I heard specifically about fragging/cutting mushrooms or other types of softies like this was to cut like a pie or pizza so each piece has a portion of the mouth. Nonetheless, thank you for taking the time to take pictures, document, and post here. Good luck!!! I am in the process of ripping mushrooms off and out of my 29 gal since their passive-agressive nature is overcrowding my other, more desirable specimens. :D

I can only spot 4 one already has its full color back and is already pretty big 3 of the mushrooms can't really see them so I highlighted them the worest off of the mushrooms i am waiting for it to at least become as big as the set of 3 2 became 4 and I am sure there are more hidden around the tank or something next time I think I will use a finer mesh

Yep they'll most likely recover. I too am about to become a mushroom butcher but I unfortunately am planning on eliminating them so I can move the existing shroom covered rocks to my upgrade tank and begin my eradicating these obnoxious passive/aggressive overcrowding species. Anybody want those so called blue but look more like purple under PC light but really cool blue when they compress at night or when lights first come on... I've got some just floating around and some that are going to be coming off. (Read - ripped off the rock. - don't worry I've tried to kill these guys. They are very resilient!)

I will take them I love mushrooms and I have more then one tank that they could survive in. I would try cutting off your shrooms at the base then leaving you live rock out of water for and hour or more b/c they will respawn from the base..... but please I would love more mushrooms

Sure, Send me a PM and I'll keep you in touch when I do get around to doing this... Probably not this weekend.
